Re: More resourcesWe have something called Smart Response Clickers. They look like remote controls. You are able to set up a test and the students answer questions. It can be anything from multiple choice to short answer. I set up each of my students with a number they log in with so I know who answered what. The students love them!

Re: More resourcesFound lots of unavailable links on this site. I was excited to see the templates, but links didn't work.

First day of school ideasHi! What do you primary teachers do to help kids get familiar with the SmartBoard? One thing I've done that kids really like is to type out all the students' names on the screen as separate items. Make the fonts nice and big and change colors if you want. Then take one of the magic pens, use it with a thick point and scribble all over the names. Have the kids come up and erase a spot until they find a name. Then they have to figure out who it belongs to. First graders LOVE doing this!

SMARTboard floating tool barI am trying to get an answer to this question and haven't even gotten a reply from SMART tech. My floating tool bar isn't letting me have the little pop out menus with each of the tools. Any ideas?
-
Re: SMARTboard floating tool barSMART Technologies has a webpage where anyone may send in their suggestions and concerns directly to product developers: http://www.smarttech.com/featu...
-
Re: SMARTboard floating tool barI found my answer. Don't know if anyone has had the same experience but it was due to an update from SMARTboard TEch. They took away this option. You can email them and request to have it replaced in another update some time. I thought it was really nice to have.

Re: New to interactive whiteboards?I've just gotten mine and so far, my biggest challenge is trying to learn to use the Notebook software. Still have not accomplished that goal!

Resources for youI just joined and teach third grade. I got a SMARTboard last March, but had two classes about 3 years ago, downloaded the Notebook software and began developing files then. I'm thrilled to have it! Have taught other grade levels and have a master's in instructional technology. Love to share resources so if you are looking for something specific I'll send on ideas. Here are some great things I've found: For training check out Teacher Tube and You Tube for tutorials. Smart Technologies has tutorials related to the SMARTboard also. I recently discovered this site https://www.blossomlearning.co... Blossom Learning. It has online classes that are great! They had free sign up in September. Maybe they will offer that again? I need help, Please!!I just got a smartboard at the beginning of the year. I cannot figure out how to use the notebook software that came with it. I also am pretty clueless on how to use the smartboard itself! I have asked if I could attend a workshop to help me with this, but my school does not have the money to send me. I have since be scouring the Internet trying to find resources and help. I hope this is the place for me!!! Thanks!
